Yu-Wei Wang

Biography

Dr. Yu-Wei Wang is an Associate Clinical Professor and Research Director/Assistant Director of the Counseling Center. She has conducted research on career development issues in partnership with the University Career Center and on food insecurity in partnership with the Dining Services, Health Center, and Maryland Parents & Family Association. Dr. Wang has published articles and book chapters on gender, international, and multicultural issues in psychology, counseling, & education; stress and coping/problem solving; career development; as well as qualitative research design. 

Dr. Wang is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) Division 17, 35, 45, and 52, and currently serves as the Secretary to the Board of the Division of International Psychology. She has received the 2020 University of Maryland Division of Student Affairs Outstanding Service Award and the 2022 Excellent Contribution Award from the APA Society of Counseling Psychology. She co-founded the Taiwan Psychology Network, a nonprofit professional organization.
