Welcome to House Altair!
Known for our patience, perspective, hope, and vision, our house is associated with the eagle. Eagles do not accept the status quo, but rather strive to achieve more and go beyond. Self-discovery, creativity, and honesty: these are among the qualities we bring to the UH community. Our house color is cobalt.
Our house is named after the star Altair, which is in the Aquila (Lat. eagle) constellation. The twelfth brightest star in the night sky, Altair is in an interstellar cloud of gas and dust known as the G-cloud. Located a mere 16.8 light years from Earth and known for spinning rapidly on its axis (approximately 40% faster than our sun), Altair is one of our closest neighbor stars. As members of House Altair, we seek to move quickly but deliberately in our quest for greatness.
House Altair is the first repeat winner of the House Cup Competition, receiving the honor in both 2021-22 and 2022-23! This year, they’re focused on maintaining their title and showing up as the most dedicated House in UH!
