My name is Simone! I was interested in University Honors because I wanted a broad educational experience where I could foster my interests outside of my major and meet students with similar mindsets. Within Gateway Seminar, I was able to do that and built friendships within the program. After participating in UH for a year, I wanted to get more involved and reached out to other student leaders within UHSB. I wanted to learn more about the program itself and be a resource for staff and faculty who are constantly working to better this program for students. The welcoming environment within UHSB encouraged me to join as a board member and eventually led me to become the VP of Membership and Communications. I am looking forward to meeting many students at different points in their UH Careers and growing a better understanding of what I can do to get them more involved with the program. I am also excited to build relationships with other UHSB members and staff.

I also love playing on intramural sports teams like basketball and volleyball. I also love cooking traditional African dishes and listening to Afrobeats music.
