Jeff Hollingsworth holds a PhD in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin and is currently the Vice President of Information Technology and the Chief Information Officer at the University of Maryland and a Professor of Computer Science. His main research area is high performance and scientific computing, and his research interests include parallel programming environments, such as performance monitoring and debugging, operating systems, computer networks, and distributed systems. His work has been used by major federal laboratories and been incorporated into products of several leading technology companies. He is also the Immediate Past Chair of the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on HPC. He serves on the board of trustees of Internet2 and the higher education advisory boards of Cisco, Dell, and Splunk; and is a two-time recipient of the IBM Faculty Partnership Award.
