Kimberly Anne Coles is Professor of English at the University of Maryland. She received her DPhil in English Literature from Oxford University. Her research examines the intersection of race and religion in early modern England, and deals with the medical and philosophical context that makes religion—or irreligion—a physiological, heritable feature of the blood. She has published two monographs and co-edited five collections on the topics of race, religion, gender and sexuality. Her work has also appeared in numerous collections and peer-reviewed journals.
