James Archsmith holds a PhD in Economics from The University of California, Davis and is currently an Assistant Professor in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Maryland. His research centers on energy, the environment and their impacts on human health and economic outcomes. He has published research in journals including the RAND Journal of Economics and the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists. Beyond the course in the cluster, he currently offers AREC 380, Data Science in Energy and Environmental Economics, which provides a thorough introduction to methods and workflow in data science focusing on problems in energy and the environment.
