Brian Connor is a Senior Lecturer of Sociology and Director of the Sociology BA/MA 5-year program at the University of Maryland. His research interests center on questions surrounding ideology and collective action in neoliberal society. Currently his research examines differences in public perceptions of state and corporate invasions of privacy. He regularly teaches courses in Cultural Sociology, Sociological Theory, and Privacy and Surveillance. In 2023 he was awarded the Provost’s Excellence Award for Professional Track Faculty in recognition for his work in the classroom.
