Frank Fantauzzi

Biography

Frank Fantauzzi holds a Masters of Architecture from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. He is currently a Visiting Professor in the Department of Architecture and Planning at the Catholic University of America. Prior to that, he was Chair of Architecture Design at MICA (Maryland Institute of College of Art). He has taught in numerous architectural programs in Canada, the United States, Finland, and Italy. His research focuses on the question of alternative forms of critical architectural practice. Parallel to teaching, Fantauzzi has also been engaged in an active art practice founded in 1989. His work is often collaborative and focuses on large-scale installations and outdoor constructions. His work is multidisciplinary in nature, explores the built environment and cultural dimensions of society, and the parallels between social and tectonic structures.
