Dr. Angela Stoltz is Assistant Clinical Faculty in the College of Education’s Teaching, Learning, Policy, and Leadership Department where she primarily serves as the Middle Grades Mathematics and Science Professional Development School (PDS) Coordinator. As PDS coordinator, Dr. Stoltz supports Middle Grades Math and Science pre-service teacher candidates, their university supervisors, and their mentor teachers and administrative staff serving teacher candidates at Professional Development Partnership Middle Schools. In addition to her PDS role, Dr. Stoltz has taught and teaches a variety of courses such as Elementary Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction, Interdisciplinary Teaching in the Middle Grades, Problem-Solving and Innovative Thinking In Mathematics Classrooms, and Assessing Mathematical Understanding. Dr. Stoltz co founded the Maryland Indigenous Higher Education Alliance (MIHEA) with university colleagues across campus and tribal members representing our diverse Maryland Indigenous Communities. Dr. Stoltz earned her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction (Mathematics Education) at the University of Maryland in 2019.
Her research is focused on access and equity in STEM education and Indigenous/IHE collaborations that support the United Nations Sustainable Development which necessitates the inclusion of Indigenous people and their perspectives in all aspects of education.
