Hi baby Terps and fellow Terps! I’m Layla, and I’ll be your Peer Academic Leader (PAL) for the 2026-2027 academic year. I’m here to make your transition to UMD and University Honors (UH) as smooth as possible. So please don’t hesitate to hit me up if you have questions or need some D1 advice. Now, let me glaze myself really quick. I’m a sophomore majoring in Public Health Science on the pre-med track (#baddieinstem). I love playing guitar and pretending I enjoy the StairMaster at the gym. I’m on the Student Leadership Committee (SLC) and an Advising Mentor in UH (yes… come to my office hours– I promise I’m helpful). I’m also involved in The Movement Street (TMS) and CRU, and I’m currently working on getting my EMT certification… so call me if you ever need someone to save your life. Fun Fact: I love Drake and yes, he won the beef so if you disagree we will be debating in class. On a more serious note, I’m so excited to watch you all grow into your own paths and become amazing people, starting right here in UH.
