Joshua has taught first- and second-year engineering courses in the A. James Clark School of Engineering since 2022, primarily ENES100: Introduction to Engineering Design and ENES232: Thermodynamics. An avid woodworker and maker, he can often be found in the campus woodshop in JMP1210 building furniture, decor, and other projects. He is a lifelong Terp, having earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from UMD. His graduate research focused on how fuels such as liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen boil in reduced gravity—work with applications to the design and operation of future space-based propulsion systems. Outside the classroom, Joshua enjoys rock climbing, woodworking, and playing board games. He also serves as the faculty advisor for UMD’s board game club.
