Daniel Reck holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the economics department at UMD, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California Berkeley and served on the faculty at the London School of Economics. His research uses quantitative empirical methods and economic theory to study a variety of topics in public economics and behavioral economics. One strand of his recent work studies the relationship between tax evasion, tax enforcement policy, and socioeconomic inequality. His other research examines such topics as the evaluation of policy reforms in the presence of psychological or behavioral frictions, the role of information in policy design, and public pension reform.
