Rebecca Jones holds a PhD in Film Studies from De Montfort University. She has previously worked in the US and the UK as an instructor and tutor, and is certified as an Associate Fellow (UK) in Higher Education Achievement (HEA). Her research centers on representation of AI and robots in British and American science fiction (SF) films to explore how that evolution is paralleled off-screen, and the interconnection between SF and technology. She has published a variety of journal articles and her forthcoming monograph, Female AI and Robots in Science Fiction Cinema: Representation, Technology, and Fabular Femininity, will be published by Bloomsbury Publishing in their Library of Gender in Popular Culture series.
